A Good Way To Distract Yourself

I might be the last one alive to have signed up already for Twitter, my profile is CatalinaLoves, but I’m now officially addicted.  I even have the little Twitterfox plug in for Firefox and now I can play with all my blogger friends and fellow kinksters and perverts all day long while I’m supposed to be working!  If I could figure it out, I would add a little Twitter widget to Catalina Loves, but I haven’t figured it out yet.  I could also, apparently, get updates on my cell phone, but again, not quite that cool.  Funny, I can tell you how to write code, but I can’t get Twitter technology to work.

Well, that’s about it - anything more and I’ll just be looking for good things.  These are all good things that I’ve found, stumbled upon, or was pointed to.  I’d rather have a short list of good things that are really good than a big long list of crap I hunted for on Friday night at 9:33 pm (the current time here in Charlotte, NC).

It’s no secret that I have a ridiculous crush on Lochai, and maybe a part of it is because I fell in love with his work as an artist.  On top of all that I got to actually meet him yesterday and put my hands on his…  prints (I know what you thought I was going to say!)

Wow….  To hang in a Museum is an amazing thing.  To hang in this Museum is even a greater compliment in that the owner/curator, Naomi Wilzig, does not normally collect photography & has only just started to.  She has thousands of painting, sculptures and other various articles that have moved her over the years and only a few photographs including ones from a good friend of mine, BT Charles.  She has had many one person displays exhibited in the galleries in the 3 years WEAM has been open, but she asked me to be the first photographer.  I am also a local so this adds to the pride I feel.  Art gallery shows are wonderful but to say that you are displayed in a museum, for me that is something I am very proud of.  I will also have Beach Bound added to the permanent collection. I was also the first heterosexual male artist to have a special “Guest Gallery” show that lasted a year of 30 of my images in the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago http://www.leatherarchives.org/ which just came down in May.

So now here we are, it’s almost time for Lochai’s big show and now it’s time for me to get involved in the only way I know how.  I’m holding my own Lochai Pledge Drive to help support Lochai’s upcoming gallery projects.  He has never done this before and he may never do this again, it’s truly exclusive (and it will give your grandkids something to bring onto The Antique’s Roadshow!) Hi!  It’s Catalina, in case you haven’t figured that out.  Marky D. Sade and I both post here, but usually I think people can tell who is writing what.  Anyway, I did some new photos with Altered Aperture the other night.  I’m getting a new collar soon so I wanted to get some shots of my “old” collar in.  I like the lighting, the freckles, the red hair, the collar, and lead combination.  I’m posting just one, but there are several.  If you like them, I’ll post more.  It’s unusual when I like an image of myself, but I do like these.  What do you think?

It’s time for me to get a new public collar, and this is it!  I have a great collar and cuff set already, that I had custom made for me at the Collar Factory.  The collar, though, is a little obvious in public, so I designed this little 3/4″ lambskin/leather black collar without any decoration and just a snap closure.  It’s way less expensive than I thought it would be - it’s going to cost about $23.00.  Their site is neat because it walks you through the process - what kind do you want? what fabrics? what colors?  what length? what adornment?  and finally, what kind of closure do you want?  I saw one made recently that was red like Mz. Berlin’s collar and it was Stunning!  However, I’m going for subtle here, not stunning.  This choker looks like a choker - that collar looks like a collar.  Perfect for home, but not so much for taking the kids to the grocery store.  Even glamorous fetish models go to the store…

Apparently I have good taste in erotic photography, because when I asked Lochai if I could use this image for CorsetandCollar.com, he told me Curves will be published in “The World’s Greatest Erotic Art of Today Vol 2″ as a winner in the photography category (n.b.: the link goes to Vol. 1). Last year he won overall photo and 2 other images of his were runner-ups.

You may not recognize the name, but I would bet money that you recognize his work. His image Beach Bound with Claire Adams is used in all kinds of forums as avatars, I’ve seen them in people’s comments on Myspace, in their favorite photos albums, and in photoblogs all over the blogosphere. It’s iconic.

In Lochai’s about page there is a very good bio. I won’t just copy/paste it. Go read it! In the first line is a sentence that I think pretty much sums up why I am in love with Lochai (at least his work!). It reads, “He shoots for the wall, not the computer screen.” I love photographers who are true artists.

Mz. Berlin is so fucking hot.  Okay, I’ve stated the obvious.  She just sent me this picture of herself in a red leather collar, and I am in love with her all over again.  I’ve never seen a picture of her that is sexier.  See that mouth of hers?  That’s what Marky D.
